Conditions – for flourishing

Welcome to your day of life, kindred spirit.

I appreciate sharing a few moments enjoying reconnecting with nature, ourselves and each other over this Conversation Cuppa.

Sometimes the greatest limitation is not what we cannot see.

Sometimes it is the quiet belief that only the visible truly matters.

It seems we naturally measure life by what appears above the surface.

The obvious.

The immediate.

The measurable.

Over time, these become understandable ways of seeing life.

Without even realising it, we can begin believing that today's circumstances are quietly writing tomorrow's story.

If life feels a little smaller today...

Perhaps we start expecting tomorrow to be smaller too.

Yet nature gently invites us to look a little deeper.

Without noticing, we can begin overlooking the relationships and conditions that quietly make life possible.

What if today's pain is not the whole story?

What if today's tiredness is not the whole story?

What if today's disappointment is not the whole story?

Perhaps nature has been reminding us all along...

Some of life's greatest treasures quietly grow beneath the surface.

Perhaps the hidden is not empty.

Perhaps it is quietly alive with relationship.

For more than a million years, Antarctica's Mount Erebus has quietly erupted beneath an icy sky.

Hidden within its volcanic plume are microscopic particles of gold.

So dispersed...

...yet enough to remind us that nature often carries remarkable treasures in unexpected places.

Scientists are drawn to Erebus for far more than its gold.

Its warmth creates conditions where extraordinary forms of life exist beneath the surrounding ice.

Its unusual volcanic chemistry helps us understand volcanoes across the world.

Even its continual eruptions reveal hidden processes taking place deep beneath the Earth's surface.

We've saved you a window seat at the Energy Café...

...looking out into nature through one of its gentle points of view.

Nature rarely separates disruption from discovery.

Perhaps our own lives are not so different.

Pain can become the first thing we notice.

Relationships sometimes erupt.

Plans change.

Dreams take unexpected paths.

It is easy to believe that today's conditions have become the whole story.

If our body hurts today...

It can quietly begin to feel as though tomorrow has already been decided.

If life feels a little smaller...

Perhaps we start expecting tomorrow to be smaller too.

Yet our Brilliant Body quietly continues responding.

Life continues adapting.

Just as Mount Erebus quietly creates conditions for life beneath the ice...

...perhaps our own quiet conversations, relationships and acts of care are already creating conditions for a future we cannot yet see.

Perhaps feeling better now doesn't begin when everything changes.

Perhaps it begins when we begin seeing differently.

One of the easiest things to believe is that what we can immediately see is the whole story.

If our body hurts today...

It can quietly begin to feel as though tomorrow has already been decided.

If life feels a little smaller...

Perhaps we start expecting tomorrow to be smaller too.

Nature rarely works like that.

A forest is not sustained by what we see above the ground alone.

Its flourishing depends upon countless unseen relationships quietly creating the conditions for life.

The deeper we look...

The more we discover that visible flourishing grows from invisible participation.

Perhaps our own lives are not so different.

The quiet conversations we have with ourselves.

The gentle way we listen to our Brilliant Body.

The patient relationships we nurture.

The small moments of noticing.

Perhaps they are all quietly creating the conditions for a future we cannot yet see.

Perhaps feeling better now doesn't begin when everything changes.

Perhaps it begins when we begin seeing differently.

As we continue walking with the wisdom of our Brilliant Body, one Vital Step at a time, it seems we begin to notice that our Brilliant Body is continually inviting us into quiet conversations that no one else hears.

Like nature, it isn't trying to hurry us.

It is gently creating the conditions in which healing, relationship and belonging can quietly flourish.

Perhaps every kind conversation we have with ourselves...

Every moment we choose to listen to our Brilliant Body...

And every gentle shift in the way we see our lives...

Is already helping tomorrow become something larger than today imagined.

And that, dear kindred spirit, is enough.

You are already enough.

Happy worthday!

It’s worth pausing for a moment to…

…celebrate our day of life by noticing one quiet conversation you've had with yourself today.

…acknowledge one gentle way your Brilliant Body has been supporting you, even if it almost went unnoticed.

…appreciate that some of life's greatest changes begin by creating the conditions in which they can quietly grow.

The Conversation Cuppa is always ready at the Energy Café.

Until next time...

…enjoy reconnecting to yourself, nature and each other.
