A Garden of Life reflection
Belonging - Stingless Bees
Welcome to your day of life, kindred spirit.
I appreciate sharing a few moments enjoying reconnecting with nature, ourselves and each other over this Conversation Cuppa.
Sometimes the greatest limitation is not what we fail to hear.
Sometimes it is the quiet belief that only human voices truly matter.
It seems we can become so busy living alongside nature that we gradually stop listening to the relationships that quietly sustain us.
Over time, these become understandable conversations.
In the Energy Café, I call this the Drama of Life—a collection of beliefs and assumptions that gradually narrow what we think is possible.
Without noticing, we begin to see ourselves as separate from nature rather than participants within it.
Yet, what if every living relationship has something to teach us?
Nature flourishes through countless conversations of cooperation, many so quiet that we rarely notice them.
What if listening became another opportunity to participate in the joy of life unfolding?
In two municipalities of the Peruvian Amazon, something remarkable has happened.
Native stingless bees have been recognised in law as living beings with the right to exist, reproduce and flourish.
For the first time, an insect has been recognised as a rights-bearing community member, allowing Indigenous peoples and conservationists to speak on their behalf when their homes are threatened.
This is much more than a legal milestone.
It is a different way of seeing.
For generations, Indigenous communities such as the Asháninka and Kukama-Kukamiria peoples have understood that stingless bees are not simply useful insects.
They are participants in the living relationships of the rainforest.
They carry ancient knowledge.
They pollinate around eighty percent of tropical flowering plants, quietly supporting forests, food systems and countless forms of life.
When we begin to recognise their importance, we also begin to recognise something about ourselves.
Perhaps life has never been asking us to stand above nature.
Perhaps it has always been inviting us to belong within it.
Every flower depends upon relationships.
Every forest depends upon relationships.
Every community depends upon relationships.
Perhaps our own wellbeing grows in exactly the same way.
As we continue walking with the wisdom of our Brilliant Body, one Vital Step at a time, it seems we begin to notice that our own wellbeing also flourishes through relationship. Our Brilliant Baby, our Brilliant Body and nature continually remind us that every quiet act of care, cooperation and belonging helps create the conditions in which life can continue unfolding.
Perhaps every act of kindness becomes another opportunity to participate in the joy of life unfolding.
And that, dear kindred spirit, is enough.
You are already enough.
Happy worthday!
It’s worth pausing for a moment to…
…celebrate our day of life by noticing one quiet relationship that supports your life today, and gently participating in its wellbeing.
…acknowledge that countless acts of cooperation may already be unfolding around us in ways we have yet to notice.
…appreciate the quiet wisdom of our Brilliant Body as it continually seeks balance, renewal and relationship, just as nature flourishes through countless living connections.
The Conversation Cuppa is always ready at the Energy Café.
Until next time...
...enjoy reconnecting to yourself, nature and each other.
